FLOCKING

FLOCKERING,i here you say….what is that?well i was looking for some "b"post seals that were not completly worn out and could`nt find any,but i did find some that was not split (result) so i wondered if i could reproduce the texture on the seal that the windoe glass run up and down on,and i come up with flocking, and it works really but don`t use the glue that the flocking companies recommend,i have try lots of stuff and here the best i have found
first remove all the the old stuff and scrubb up the rubber so the glue has a good surface to bond to

then find your self and old mk1 bonnet outside to work on, and apply a mixture of glue and black paint

mask of the seal, and glue seal, then with your flocking in the dispencer cover the seal well, this is messy

i bought a 2 oz bag a dispencer for about a tenner this in more that enough,i did six seal with plenty to spare
leave for at least 72 hours to dry then shack of excess

i think you might be impressed with the finish

sorry about pics car was still in garage

loom

after reading other comments about cleaning wiring looms,i thought, i woud try the dishwasher method(WORD OF WARNING)do it when the wifes out, this method worked very well, just required small amount of work when finished on a hot wash…as you know cooper connectors tarnish after time,so every connector was left in a jar of lemon juice which bought them back to high shine and removed any corrosion, then covered with electrical sillicon grease to prevent futher tarnish.
