I know that feeling… excited but nervous as hell lol !!!

Next on the list for this one is a wash, polish and replacement dash.  I'll then leave it and tax & MOT it for the summer.  In the mean time I have a lhasa green non-sunroof project to crack on with.  I'll be running this for a year and then sticking a big lump or turbo in it  8O !!!  I just want to get the green one on the road and drive it.  Can't beleive how much you miss the golf when you can't drive it

Well this motor of mine hasn't seen road for over two year and only needs £100-£200 to get her running.  She has all new tyres and everything…. as it's a sin to keep her locked up I'm looking to get her running, taxed and MOT'd for the summer 2012!!!

Well after all that work the fuel lines were so rusty fuel spilled out everywhere.  So after 4 years or so, I finally got my butt ingear and got rubber lines installed and put it through an MOT.  It has passed!!

Now for insurance and 6 months tax.  The mk1 should be floating around in 2013!!!  Finally!!!  Also, we are expecting our first child in May and it's made me a bit sentimental as me and my own father rebuilt this engine… I want to get it going and have something that we both worked on out on the road.  My old man may even get to use it now and again!!

I'm happy with the car, it's no where near show condition and needs work but it's generally tidy.  Also, the worst bits on the whole car are 4 parts where previous owners have jacked it up in the wrong place.  It's really gutting seeing them but hey-ho… she's mine and she's running!!!

BRING IT ON.

Hey Spud, good to see you about and congrats on the new arrival in May! :)

MOT'd and ready to rock, nice one. What sort of rubber fuel hoses are they? For underside? My GTI had these when I bought the car - they cracked after not too long and leaked fuel everywhere - not a good thing to happen!

Cheers

Thanks fellas!!

Hairy - They are high pressure fuel lines. They are rubber and under car so hope they don't crack!!  Car is dry stored and not used much so hope she will be alright. I'll monitor it bud. Thanks for the heads up and the comments.

Jelly - been a long time coming mate but don't expect too much bid. She's not a show stopper but I love her LOL!
