Not much happening with this, got new suspension to fit, also going to chang it to a GTI tank and fuel pump. Had the golf on the trailer a couple of weeks ago and a guy followed me home and said he had a golf gti in his garden and if i wanted anything just to go see him, so i did and i got this





Now i have some spares that I need, also I have a spare shell for repair sections, tho it is very rusty, but has the odd part I can use like the inner wing

Started work on the mk1 tonight, going to strip it down, got some welding to do and underseal, should have it done for the spring, also fitting new shocks and springs

Nice find with the spare mk1  :thumbs:

Can be cold in winter, but its dry and better than working out side  :thumbs:

That is true  :lol:

I've noticed even working inside just recently, the temperature has plummeted!! Will just have to work harder to keep warm  :lol:

Slowly getting some work done, just working on it after work



Few more days and I should have the rear end on the roll over jig

Most parts removed from the shell, on its side now

Looking good mate, I can remember getting my shell on the jig for the first time. You'll be able to crack on now :thumbs:

Got some cutting done on this, have to remove an old repair I done 9 years ago so its slow work but started now



Hope to get a weekend on it in a few weeks

Thanks, not as bad welding a mini I done a few years ago, that was a big job  :thumbs:

Been getting a bit done on the golf, new sill fitted


Inner wing cut out


and inner wing all welded up


Drivers side rear axle mount cut out


I have got the repair section all made up for the axle mount, hope to get them welded in tomorrow

Thanks guys, got a bit of welding done today, still need to tidy it up a bit and fit a stud to hold the fuel pump
