Rear brake pipes installed.
Fuel tank, lines, pump and accumulator fitted.
Some more parts back from the platers! Even though I had told the guy twice that I wanted them yellow as per my previous parts he had done somehow he still managed to do them silver! not a huge problem, had I have been doing an original, standard restoration I would had to have had them redone, but I can live with them as they are.
And lastly rear beam fitted! All bolts torqued, bearings adjusted and handbrake cables/lever fitted and adjusted. The coilovers are fk that came on the car when I bought it, they haven't done much work and will do for now.
Thank

Are you having a manual one inside the car or something?

Something looked odd with your rear brake pipes and then I realised you haven't refitted the rear brake compensator.

Yes, well spotted. I am fitting an adjustable proportional valve close to the master cylinder to give me more control over the rear brakes.

Looking good fella :-)
I'm keen to learn more about the proportioning valve you are fitting and where it would fit in the engine bay as my compensator looks a bit rough/dodgy and I'm not totally convinced how well they work on the bases of a spring on the rear beam…could you pls tell me more?
I also like the idea of more control over brake bias
I see you had the old spring re-plated but guessing you are not fitting it now?!
Would fitting something like this suffice?

Hi Martin,
No I won't be using that spring I had plated now!
I will be using two proportional valves, I have two reasons for this.
1. I have heard that having different fluid displacements on the two outlets is not good for the m/c and can lead to premature failure. If using one valve, one of the m/c outlets would have to do one front wheel and the other outlet would be doing one front then a tee to the valve and both the rears.
2. I wanted to retain the safety of the diagonal braking system. By using one valve on one of the m/c outlets for both the rears, if a fault occurred, split hose etc. i would lose both the rear brakes and also a front.
The proportional valves I have purchased are very similar ones to your link, also from eBay but unbranded but with m10 outlets. I had previously bought 2 wilwood ones but they have 1/8 npt outlets, I tried to find adapters but had no success so sent them back and got a refund.
I plan on mounting the valves close to the m/c and will probably make some kind of a bracket. I hope to have them installed in the next couple of weeks and will update my thread
