I would have loved to have come for a look around but unfortunately its my sunday at work! Do u know how much on average jason charges to paint? I know cars will differ with the amount of work they need but a ballpark figure? Im john btw.

hey people. spent a couple more hours on the car 2day after work. took off passenger side wing which looked pretty much identical in condition to the drivers side…






 also removed the bonnet. no rust here what-so-ever!! just MORE waxoyle!



after that i decided i was enjoying myself so i took off the front doors…



just as i was about to start on the back ones it started to rain (typical) and my mum and dads garage isnt the biggest so i called it a day



im quite concerned that this car is a little 'too good to be true' so far as i havent found much wrong so far and touch wood i wont as i continue. really enjoying it so far!!!!!

Mat there a bit pricey mate so may aswel buy wellers! I love wharncliff although everytime iv been its rained which is fun but u get really cold! Its about 30 mile from wher i live so not to far!

No mate theres no point now till i here bk from jamie about his lock up in stokeham. Hes got 1 at the same place as jason buckly i recon. Hes gonna let me know if i can do it there later on 2nyt.

As some of u will know im thinkin of paintin the car im a similar green to the car earlyer on in the thread. I recon im gonna get the retrim done in some sort of tweed. Any one got any ideas or suggestions as to material and supplyers etc?

finally!!!! ive got somewhere to work on the car and spray it!! prep should be starting this weekend hopefully so expect plenty more pics to follow!!

hey there, where is the project? i am waiting to see the end because i'm owner of 5door MK1, your is like new, no rust inside?you are lucky man,
sorry for my english, i am from greece and i dont now so good to write or speak.

Yeah no rust anywer really mate. Just the 2 small patches on the wings. End result will b in 2 to 3 months. Engine is comin out 2mora so i can degrease the bay before i prep it. Il take some more progress pics 2mora 4 ya dude. Project is in england!

super, in a few days i post my own project 5door MK1 1800 8V, before 2 days i give it to the workshop and in the end of the month i believe its going to be ready, till 2morrow dude with new pics  :wink:

I look forward to seeing it

alright people. up until today not much has been going on with the car , what with waiting for parts to arrive , work and being a bit lazy if im honest. today me and my dad have made some real progress. first job of the day was to prime and paint the bumpers that were badly faded:





luckly had a full day of sun so these were baked nicely and look spot on. after that we trial fitted the new wings. was quite worried they would fit a bit cack as they are patterns but they went straight on a fit really well!








once we had done those we started the initial rubbing down with the d.a. got roof , doors and bonnet done and made a start on the tailgate:







gonna crack on again tomorrow and hopefully get the rest of the car done inside and out and do any filling that needs doing ( hardly any   ) and we should be ready for the wet and dry rubbing stage! feel like its actually starting to come together now  8O

oh yeah took out the dash aswell as i have a nice new brown one to put in

Got a bit more done last night. Had to fit the coilovers to make a bit of space. Gettin agro off the missus as usual! Also rubbed down the rear valence and quarters. Forgot to take my camera so will get pics tonight!
