this is my mk1 golf 1982 cab project that i use as my daily driver

hi i have owned my mk1 golf cabriolet 1982 small bumper for nearly 5 months and i think i brought wat you could call a 'Bad Egg' it was ok for the first week runninga nice 1.6gti kjet seemed like a genuine buy the seller was nice, car is mostly rot free and pulled fine, i started getting problems with the rear wiring loom, it shorted and melted itself leaving me no lights on a late journey home, sourced from ebay and a quick £50 repair for a replacement loom problem solved, next the front lights played up searching through the bodged job of wiring again managed to repair the fronts with some spair wires and heat shrinks once again all working correctly. when using the golf on long runs found that it wouldnt want to start after being turned off. leaving me stuck in morrisons car park for 20mins normally, couldnt see a problem so carried on driving,  i did fit some coiloves and some 13" ats classic alloys 7j and 8j but the next day fell into a pot hole and smashed my sump open leaving me stuck in town centre with no oil :( a quick weld up and a plate welded on top it was as good as new. until this happened 2/3 times after so decided to invest in air ride, after 2-3weeks of not finding anything i got lucky and managed to BAG :P a custom set of AIRLIFT struts and brought myself a managment kit, it worked a treat was really nice handling. i took the golf to RTTS 2013 used alot of fuel getting there to find my fuel pipe had been bodged with some standard rubber hoses and had persished yet another bodge, i was struggling to see how this golf had just gone through an mot but replaced it and was all ok. then 400miles later on way back from RTTS the fuel pump packed in. car was recoverd new fuel pump fitted and was running alot better, no delay to start up and wouldnt leave me stranded in morrisons. i decided DC13 would be my next show and she made it, top down sun in hair (some of the way) and was enoying the car for its sound and smoothness now, sadly didnt win a trophie :( but its the taking part that counts :D, driving home around 70mph about an hour into my journey theres a lack of power and a BANG and smoke the whole fireworks display took part in my engine bay, coasted to a layby followed by a friend in his jetta, he gets out runs back down the road a good 1/2mile still smoke out my bonnet fluids on the road ect ect, he comes back with a bent conrod it had shot under my car and over his (luckily) now im pised off all these problems on a golf i didnt expect, anyway recoverd to find a 3 inch hole in my block shot straight down taking a coolant hose it. new engine is now sourced and am curently getting it back together for the MK1OC AG ill upload pictures of how it startedan how im getting along. if you read this thanks! if you didnt thn booo
