I know brad, well we found out it was timed up a tooth out, once that was sorted it starts and runs alrightish but apaz theres not power getting to the aux airvalve and hes tried tracing the wires but cuz ive had them hidden and cuz he never wired it, its like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, i think my next port of call is send it back to crazy quiffs if he cant sort it cuz theyll have a better idea of what it might be, and also the fuel pump primes when anything electrical is switched on/off :/ ... Oh and he also sed theres a missfire at around 3000 revs which hes tryin to sort but other than that its fine and dandy lol

Those wheels are lovely Chipster, very nice! Good price on getting the holes changed, adaptors wouldn't be much less tbh.

My adaptors will be about £40 each, hopefully collect them Tuesday and I'll put some pictures up, will be quite a complicated set up, plugging probably would have been easier.

I did think about adaptors but cuz these wheels arent very wide u can get a real nice tuck.inside the archs with these, otherwise id be all over adaptors :)

Thanks for the comments guys

What width are your front wheels? Mine are 7", really hoping they will tuck under the arches, don't want stretch tyres.

These are my babies-

Found them by chance on wheelwhores, love at first sight! Bought them instantly without considering the massive amount of work to mount them and the brakes  :o  O_o

How does the ET system work?

They're Linea sport, 16 x 7 and 8, never seen them before, but think they'll look good on a mk1.

Brad - the front offset is et35, will these tuck?

Chipsets - sorry, feels like I've hijacked your thread  :$  would love to see some before and after photos of your plugged rims. I'll post a picture of the adapters when I get them, might be of interest to you.

well another update

got the car back from crazy quiffs and everything electrical and engine wise is finished!!!!!

it drives and runs sweet as a nut now thanks to them

in getting the car back I decided that im going to do the underneath of the car and thatll be it once that's done and then im gonna drive the s**t out of it ha ha

been on a spending spree lately

got the wheels back from being redrilled

bought some genuine mk1 wing mirrors as the flag mirrors were annoying when driving

got a powdercoated rear beam and all the trimmings to fit

got the rear discs and bearings kit

petrol tank that im gonna spray black

filler neck and stuff to fit

got some black paint and some epoxy mastic to do the petrol tanks and underside to the car

ive also started stripping the underneath back to bare metal so I can get it all done but I forgot to take photos of that as of yet but I will wen I get chance
