Post

volkswagen attention to detail rocks

gave the block a rub down again as well

and another coat

Post

head got a hit as well

the pictures off the front are still on my phone though and i need to get the software found and uploaded on this comp before i can show yous them  :dontknow:

Post

the engine is back in now with a duppower manifold which went on like a sweetie and fits perfect, cant comment on any horse power gains yet

muchos recomended if your doing a 16v transplant in a mk1,popped on better than the old cast effort came of

as for the wheels they started out this colour, kinda racing green/gold and silicone two tone and 7 1/2 and 8" wide

so they got a dunk in some stripper

Post

then some wire wheel action

took a break to get this fitted(small idiot moment   )

(cheers to stuart moncrief for fitting and painting it)

Post

then some 400 grit orbital action

Post

up to 800 grit on the orbital

Post

had to hand them over to the painter for this bit

but i got the 'pleasure' of wet flatting

Post

dragon green as off polos corrados and golfs amongst others but a slightly custom mix, these wheels are ultimately for my two door mk1 jetta so theyre the same colour as that is going to be

plain jane base coat

Post

another wet flat session then some pop with the laquer

and the new lips, polished up by the polisher although he gave me a shot and tried to teach me how but i can only bow to the master

Post

120 of these which literally looked like they had been dunked in silicone

individually carefully wiped down with a clean rag, nothing abrasive as gold plating is not thick at all

the nuts needed a clean too but its a family site so no pictures lol

Post

then built them back up,2" lips all round to make them all 8"

i was never really sure of the gold bolts until i built them back up fully

Post

took them home and gave them a clean to get the handling marks off(marks on bare alloys from body sweat is not good)

then some tyres

stretch is bad yadda yadda, needed it to get the wheels on and these are 195/45's as i couldnt find 185/50s in time

Post

and back to where we started

Bloody hell! 8O  Those wheels are absolutely stunning mate! Saw them in another post in a pic of your car and thought looked ok but after seeing the close ups, attention to detail is spot on

Cracking job
