But, after inspecting the two crankshafts I wondered, would the crankshafts be interchangeable? They look very similar, and have the same diameter main and big end journals.

I would like to keep the 2 litre if possible!

Very similar! any boffins know if I can use the DX crank in the 3A??

Also, if I am going to use the DX, I will need to use the original small dizzy gear, as I have changed the smaller DX gear for the bigger 3A gear, but would it be possible to swap the intermediate shaft instead??

Putting the two side by side, they are the same, apart form the size of gear and the strange lobe on the DX shaft. Anyone know if these can be swapped over? Or what that lobe is for??

I Believe the lobe is for driving the fuel pump, on a carb engine, 1.5 or 1.6 ……

I think you should be able to swap them over, if you swap to the appropriate dizzy too .

How good is the por aluminium paint. Isn't similar to the high temp silver paint from halfords or more durable?
