bert,theres 8 wheels and 8 caps so no spare,ive got 8 nos caps in sealed bags but cant bring myself to open them lol and got 4 brand new castellet wheels but there too nice to use

The postman landed today with 2 sets of reconditioned audi 80 quattro caliper carriers to fit a mk1 golf hub to allow 256mm discs and girling 54 calipers to be fitted so it should stop when its all fitted





even the daughter was impressed lol

painted the back of the block,put the turbo back on,blanked off EGR



trial fitted the engine mount,cut the rear belt cover to suit,fitted water pump,belt kit to see how it will sit



the idler is very close to the mounting,so im going to push the bush in the mount and see how goes it

put on the goodyear GA tyres i has stashed,brand new ones



got some new girling 54 calipers feady to go on



also with clearance issues i have got a smaller timing belt deflection pulley off a earlier tdi



if it catches ill remove it altogether

Very interesting.  did you have to uprate shocks cos I'd have thought tdi lump to be heavier than stock?

im going to drop it in and see how goes,there standard springs,and to be honest,its not much more weight than the petrol lump,maybe slightly heavier,so see how it sits when the engine and box are in
