ABF 2.0 block 16v KR head, conversion. Help me please

the engine should be ok sitting in the two mounts, the bottom rear mount is  mostly the torsional twisting movement of the engine when revving it. put an axle stand or sum wood under if ya wana give alil more support. conversions going along nicely dude, keep up the good work!

I think i will do that because it could be a while before i get a new mount for it.
I also need a new starter motor because i stupidly sold mine to chriswizz when my inentions were to carry out a 20vt conversion.

Now i have my engine in, my strut brace wont fit. So that is for sale now if anyone wants it. Its stainless steel. Looks good

Sounds like many projects nick. one step forward, 3 steps back. Its so frustrating and the only thing you can do is think "It will all be over soon" Just "try" and enjoy the experience. I kind of like coming up against problems now, because solving them is so rewarding….

Love the bay and your chassis is in stunning condition. I wish i had that sort of base to work with, then i would not have been welding for 3 months……….

I have been bored today and i am still waiting for parts to complete my conversion. So heres what i have been doing instead.
I decided to refurb my side strips.

as you can see they have corroded in places

I started sanding them but that took ages, so i use a blow torch to speed things up.

all the paint off and you can see how bad the corrosion is where they have cracked.

used filler in the corroded places and used it to renforce the cracked areas
And i am currently painting them. I hope they turn out ok

Nick have you got the engine sat on the mounts corretly yet ?

What exhaust manifold are you using ?

Engine should sit with prenty of room for the bonnet.

Hi BROOKSTER, yes it is sat on the mounts correctly now. and the bonnet does close, thank god.
I was so worried when the bonnet didnt go on.
Im using a raceland exhaust manifold which also fit fine, it only didnt fit before because the engine wouldnt tilt back.
Im just waiting for a starter motor and rear engine mount which i have ordered off CazyQuiff.

I got a few problems now.
First one is when i connect the red battery lead to the fuse box i can hear the fuel pump. The pump continues to make a noise and it also sounds as if it is injecting without the engine running thus flooding the cylinders. This happens without the key in the ignition. Have i wired it up wrong?

Second issue is my main HT lead fits the distributer but not my coil. Do i need a new coil or just a new cable.
Thanks

The injectors shouldn't inject until the air flap moves upwards ! or cold start injector is incorrectly connected.
