thanks for the kind comments.i was hoping for dc next week but im not happy with some of the paint work so will be in most of this week.just hope i can make stanford but as you know paint shop equals dust and mess so god knows how long its going to be really.wish i had of bit the bullet in the 1st place because i knew it had paint defects but thought i could live with them

this is my 1st time back in the vw fold.i did show a mk1 back in the early 90s but dissapeared to explore other makes and models to show standards.had a few years off cars but couldnt resist the lure of a mk1 again
the only pic i have left of the old mk1

Did you keep all your old cable fixings to attach your cable to the car or where did you get new ones from?

Just for the cables around the engine bay in general. Also can you tell me which of the fuel lines comes up the nearside wing nearest the bulkhead?

sorry but lost a little energy of late,so back at it for the final push

bought a big roll of sound proofing and anti rattle pads .also wired up my old mutant underseat sub ,refurbed the old driver door cappings and vinyled thr backs to match

Great rebuild looks fab.

I'm restoring a driver and need a few bits, can I ask where did you get the vinyl door cappings for the front doors.

The previous owner removed them, and I can't find replacements anywhere  :(

Also, the speaker pods are they from a Mk2 ?

thank you  for your kind comments people
heritage have a copy of the cabriolet door cappings and not really sure for a tin top.i bought a set of cabriolet ones that i was going to cut down and fit.the door speaker enclosures are from a late cabriolet like the rivage and sportsline.the car will be on the stand at the nec next week :)
