I love this car mate, great job and i love the rims. just a quick question, does your tyres rub on the arches? on those coilovers? cheers

Wanna Hug?

Thanks, and no, they don't rub at all. I've driven it quite hard over a variety of challenging local roads, and there was nothing.

They're not adjustable. The factory settings are just fine on the V1's. Like I'd know better than KW's designers and engineers! Anything with too much adjustability on a road going mk1 is wasted.
As for their ride, it's firm, but manageable. I still don't think they're as good as my old H&R's though, but they were £1000 a set back in the mid to late 90's.

Think he's got the V1's

Love the tartan interiors on the S1's. Wish there were more about for sale  :P

Had a few months off the Golf with so much other stuff going on such as bikes and houses! Anyway, as I was waxing the car today I decided to finally put the correct front spoiler back on it (because it's nowhere near as low as it used to be). Just a couple of pics to keep the thread alive (crappy old iphone pics).

Cheers Sam. They're Nankang 185/45's. People give them a hard time because of their mixed reviews in the rain. But let's be honest, when does my car ever see rain?
In my mind they were the best balance between looks and performance;these guys that run the silly 165's on a GTI are nuts. If there was a 195/40 for 15's, then I would have tried that, but sadly they don't exist.
