Well I think your golf is looking about spot on now.

For me there is nothing better than a sorted standard car on nice rims.

I'm biased, of course, but I agree!  8)

Is that a mk2 back box (twin pipe)

Yes, well spotted.

Thank you, but I can't take too much credit. The only real visual changes I have made since buying the car are the wheels and restoring the red trim on the grille.

Wow, that's awesome, thank you!

I hadn't seen that until now.  :redfaced:

Date of first rego makes sense too as the car left Wolfsburg on 11 March 1980. And, you're right, already knew the car found its way to Australia in 95.

Well, it's only taken 18 months to finally get all my starting issues sorted but the ol girl now starts bang on every time. I knew it had it in her, haha!

So I went out and took some new pics today to celebrate.  8)

Thanks mate. I'm slowly crossing off the list of things to help finish the car off.

Another item crossed off: Wolfsburg steering wheel. Was a bit of search to get one, and I ended up paying well over the odds on eBay too, haha.

New instrument cluster/surround and radio are now installed…

The dash clocks came via TeamReg on here (thanks mate), the radio via eBay US (it was BNIB).
