hi thanks for looking at my thread.
heres where it started for me a year ago going to collect the car from ireland.
http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=general-chat_3%2Fireland-road-trip-was
so since then ive done alot of work on the car. sorted out all the electrical problems, new battery, brake pipes and servo, new full gear linkage, as you know it goes on …and on
So after that ive started to look at the body work. cutting out the old rot in places and welding in new metal and cleaning off all the old underseal.
…so i got some child labour in
…and they primed, stone chipped and repainted the arches with the help of dad!
…so Dano came over to help me
…and while he slept i got stripping the rest of the car ready for the respray
…so now as of 13th May its ready to be picked up to be sprayed. While its away ive trained as car trimmer so will be recovering the seats and putting new vinyl on the webastoe roof so il post more next week with the update re the retrim and repaint. Hoping to get the car all done for the AGM …where i hate to say i may be advertising to sell Scott

Hi. Thanks for looking at my thread. Just an update from last months thread ……
So been busy with family holidays to Skegness and such a like but been a busy month on the golf too.
Firstly I took the wheels off and sent them the powder coaters with the webastoe hood frame to be done and sent it the paint shop.
Two weeks later got the call to say it was done!
The paint job was ok but there was elements i wasnt happen with so i sanded it all back using 2000 grade sand paper
I then set up a tempory garage on the drive and for the offer of beer tokens my mate bobbed up with this valeting kit and polished the car up for me
He did an amazing job and works all over the north west clay polishing and valeting.
Sanded back
Polished
Waxed.
If anyone needs a good reliable valeter pm me and il give you Marcs number.
So the build ups started!!
..and started making my own headlining …..seat material is on order to do the retrim.
…So until next time its under wraps!!!!!
