it needs work. i dont want to put potential buyers off coz he seems a decent guy and answers any questions and doesnt mind giving you a look so id say take a look for yourself and see what you think. i am by no means a mechanic at all and i feel it wud be just too much for me to take on with my limited funds and knowledge.

these cars are getting rarer now and ?800 is peanuts really for a runner. but in my opinion thats all it would be cost effective to do, run it as it is.

Hi, Ive been looking at the red gti on methly road as well, mine is a blue mk1 c on an A plate working in ponty but live i cas, might be for sale shortly as Ive nearly finished other project, also comes with spare mk1 polo 1.1 engine and box.

I had a good look round the mk1 in the unit. The guy who owns it is a full on pikey, hasnt a clue what he's on about. Reckons the dual lamp grill is worth Hundred quid. But the mk1 is knacked lol

Where abouts in Ponty you work with the blue mk1 I dont think I seen ya about

work down skinner lane as welder fabricator for DSK near Karting centre, must admit my car isnt flaunted around cas as we keep getting idiots poking nose in and asking is is a gti,how fast what engine etc.Could do with somebody more experienced with golfs than me to help identify colour, no colour code on it any where,

my mates just bought a white maxed up mk1. not my cuppa but ul be seein it around ponte and cas. low loud and resprayed

you should enjoy the karting, when u get there I work in building on the right of the kart building, we found a guy near kendal with a mk1 and a rear engined vr32, he also is building a caddy with a nissan something or other in the bed.

drkwack did ya follow a mk1 clipper (white) with a nasty scab on the back bumper the other day? i turned off up ropergate?

if its u ive seen ya a few times overroad from kwik fit (work) nice cabby fella.
 liam has that white clipper got leather seats an a install? he called in a bit ago to see if i'd top hydrolics up (for roof)

my hood has started to not go up. hav to keep finger down on it for about two or three minutes b4 it starts to go up an sumtimes stops. but it works perfectly normal goin down….any ideas?

Well...drove past the industrial unit on my way to work this morning and the red GTI has now gone!....Looks like the guy must have sold it ...hopefully someone will give it a good home and a new lease of life...... :dontknow:

check the hydrolic flud in the pump, its on the left hand side behind a pannel, leverl should be upto the max line whe the hood is down mate

  yep sorry for delay been working away. car will b 4sale shortly got my LR disco running(grand kids like to come when we go off roading)
