noise coming from rear passenger side wheel

it doesnt always do it just every now and again, its like a consistant rubbing but does sometimes stop. i noticed that the centre nut cap gets a little warm too? thanks all

I'd look at either bearings or maybe the brake shoe has delaminated. jack the car up, give the wheel a spin to check for bearing noise.
if that gets the all clear chuck hand brake on and see if there is any movement. or whip the drum off.

it might be something daft like a stray brake hose.

Does it alter with cornering at all? Other thing to check is handbrake cable is seated in the drum OK .. that can make a bit of noise as it should sit under like a bent clip thing behind the lower shoe spring. One of mine was rubbing on the inner of the drum where the bearings sit, always worth a check

I haven't noticed it changing when cornering just when I'm driving and like I say it doesn't always do it which is what's confusing me the most

Could be shoes sticking on .....take your drum off and take a look

What's a creeping rear wheel cylinder mate?

The rear shoes are moved when you press the foot brake by your rear wheel cylinders. If the seals go on them (one or both sides) the rear brakes can stick on, creep on slowly or not come on at all. Usually you notice some kind of lack of brake efficiency but not always. Mine were changed before I put the car back on the road as they had seized off from being sat for so long and they cost about £6 each side, not a hard job to do really and this is assuming you are on rear drums … also if a cylinder has gone and leaked brake fluid into your drum then you could have swollen brake shoes as that is what brake fluid does to brakes
