injection problem fault

Hi all
Can any body help with a possible over fueling /non start problem on my mk11 golf gti 16v  f reg

tried to start on week end as wanted to do some more work on engine and finish off in bay, car prob not been started for over a year,

initially tried and nothing, whilst tried to start from a booster pack and jumping from my daily diesel motor,

felt like no fuel getting up so checked with good old brake clean in inlet and fired up no problem for couple of moments

got 6 ltrs of petrol as knew was very  very low or even possibly out of fuel

tried that but still no fuel
at this stage wasnt sure if pump was working so got electrical tester and fired pump manually, car ran for few seconds before dying,
this time asked friend to turn key whilst i worked pump but no luck and could def hear pump working any way on turn of key and whilst turning over

so i stripped out plugs again to find swamped with petrol, dried and even pre heated plugs and refitted, again no luck
removed plugs again and turned over engine, WOW petrol pumping out of all 4 cyls , massive over fueling
suspect a valve stuck ??????
can any body shed any ideas plz :ocf_emoticons__BangHead::ocf_emoticons__BangHead:O_oO_o:'(

have a read thru this, ignore all the fancy 16v bits just concentrate on the basic kjet parts :)

for the ignition timing you disconnect and p[lug the vac pipe on the distributor, no spade to disconnect anywhere. for the idle and co just set this when engine warmed up and ticking over normally no special procedures

stripped down metering head as some one suggested on the mk11 site plunger may be stuck?????

luckily did'nt loose any of little parts (springs and caps ) after blowing through with airline.
when split metering head , i think the centre little shaft piece is the plunger???
is this meant to move ???
if yes, can some body tell me how to free as seems quite solid and no movement ????

Mine got stuck after sitting for 14 yrs.  I did not dismantle the metering head, just unscrewed it so I could turn it on its side to get to the plunger.

You should have a small clip that stops the plunger coming all the way out. Bend it out of the way then pull on the plunger with pliers, taking care not to score it.  It should pull out, but be careful a spring came out with mine.

I then sprayed everything with Carburettor cleaner which disolved all the varnish like deposits.  If you can't get the plunger to move in the first place try spraying with the carb cleaner first, allowing it to soak.

Once everything was clean, I sprayed some more carb cleaner down the holes where the fuel pipes attach to and put everything back together. The plunger pushed in quite easily, and then moved its self back out with a nice 'damped ' motion.

OK UPDATE

omg
was just about to re-strip and was going to show  son how much fuel was pumping out of spark plug holes,

was turning over and NO FUEL pumping out , so put plugs back in and YIPEE started straight away

so must have dislodged it some how, or the huge amount of carb spray to try and keep ultra clean

did notice tho that metering head was very very clean and no deposits at all

starts on the button now every time
now to re-strip engine and do timing belt and to fathom out alternator and all other pullys etc
car was standing for 8 + years with poss started couple of times in between

THANKS for the tips and advice every body
will try and put some pics up soon
