mk1 to mk2 loom

Hi there , I am converting my mk1 with a PF gti digifant motor and complete wire loom. Is this possible without problems. The wireing and motor in the mk 1 right now are burnt up so thats why i want to use my doner car mk 2 to solve the problem.

if your mk1 has the later blade type fusebox and the mk2 golf is pre-90 and LHD it should be very close to a direct fit, only a few modifications if any required :)

Thanks for the help, but do i just splice the wire ends so they fit the old kontakts og fek.s stering colum. But theres some extra wires on the hazard wire from the mk2 and som extra on the light swicht on the mk1 wire. Can you help here.

ah so you want the whole loom? the steering column plugs are all the same, the clock plugs will need splicing on. the dash switches again will need splicing, but they all use standard latched spades in the mk1 so you could crimp new spades on :)

rear wiring loom is similar, the mk2 and mk1 rear light plugs are the same if the mk1 has the later rear lamp units, but you may have to swap pins around. if it has the smaller rears again they just uses spades so chop and crimp/splice.

convert the fuel pump wiring to fit the fuel pump setup you plan to use, if you go for a post-84 cabrio/scirocco lifter pump in your fuel tank the mk3 pre-90 plug is the same, and if you swap the mk2 fuel pump plug connector to a mk1 gti fuel pump that'll plug in as well :)

engien bay looms as i say need a couple tweaks but they're pretty similar
