wing mounted whip aerial

Post

yo!

i'm being really fussy but I am looking for a wing mounted 'upright' whip aerial for my cabriolet.

i have this stupid rubber thing at the moment but its not what I am after, you know the mid length whip things that are roof mounted on a lot of cars I am after that, but uptight, instead of 'leany'.. i'm guessing there must be some wing mounted whip aerials out there..  but cannot find them 😕

any ideas or links to products would be greatly appreciated.

Not aware of any but I'm sure there's something out there for you.

But have you ever thought of a full electric one?
You can get the original one that dealers were fitting on Mk1's new.

I bought one but it took me a long time to find it initially but that was only because the manufacturer had changed the last letter of the part number!  O_o

You can buy them in the uk for about £40, maybe even less and again they are original from the company Hirschmann!

If you're interested I can find the new part number this weekend for you.

Oh and it does look cool.

Be proud of your VW Golf Mk1, it's very special!

Bosch did a style called 'Autoflex' that would probably fit the bill, not sure if they're still made though they do turn up on eBay and the likes.

They were available at least as far back as 1986, see the VW accessory brochure from that year.

I've temporarily put the one below back on for the photo.

Also a catalogue with types / specs and part numbers to help track one down.

Amazing on both counts.. If I can't find the latter I will go for the former!

Bacardi.. Thank you for taking the time out to post such useful information, that's just what I'm after!

(Don't fancy selling yours do you?!   )
