power hood

hiya, ive jus bought a mk1 cabby with power hood. everyting is pretty good and clean except for the hood...Nothing happens, No clicking no whirring, nothing. Im new to this so please excuse the dumbness lol. The last owner said a sparky has had a look and the motor is fine, What else can i do...Also is there anywhere in the durham area replaces or repairs the skin...Thanks

Have you tried car hoods direct, look on the left of this site for a clickable image.

I take it you have the key inserted in the ignition but not turned when you try and operate the roof?
Have you checked the fuses?

ive done the key thing. il check and replace the fuses now. there is a random blue wire which has been cut just neat the motor what can this be? thanks for your help

Can you get any pictures up? With my car the previous owner cut the main wire in an attempt to simply turn the unit off !!  

Is the chamber topped up to the right level also??

I don't have whatspp I'm afraid mate. I take it you've checked and replaced the fuses as mentioned earlier in the thread? Is this on the same loom as electric windows? They work fine presumably?
