warm start problem

hi can anyone help me i have a 1980 vw golf GLI i have owned since it was 3 years old and it has just had a total engine and gearbox rebuild, the engine runs fantastic and sounds amazing it starts first time and runs nicely.

but…..when it warms up a little it starts to run rough and cuts out.

i have replaced the coil and condenser, the distributor cap and points are new and the timing has been checked, the fuel pump and accumulator are both new and the fuel pressure even when hot is fine so i don't think its fuel evaporation.

it the same each time i only got it back from the garage this week and i can drive it for a bit and all is fine then it starts to be a bit rough before cutting out, if i leave it for an hour or so it will start again fine until warm.

any idea's as its been i the garage for 6 months having the engine and gearbox and interior re done so i don't really want to send it back if its a siliy thing.

thanks

steve

Is the fuel system clean? Make sure the fuel filler pipe is not rotten and allowed rust and road debris into the tank casuing a blockage.

Starting, running and then struggling and dying, then being back to normal after leaving a while is textbook symptoms
