Horn wont work

Hello

Doing my annual checks before nthe mot at the start of May (cant wait to drive it again!) and remember the horn doesnt workIve checked the wIre the steerIng wheel and the contacts are fine and the fuse ok…any other areas i should check?

It's usually the earth on the steering rack but maybe the relay, does it click when you press the horn?

Have you checked the Earth wire near the steering rack

Not sure on the relay- which one is it related to? 

Stupid question- how do you check the one on the steering column?

The one on the steering rack.  If you look on the back of the steering rack you will see the earthing point to ground out the steering column to make the circuit.  It's often mucky/corroded due to the location.

Can you see if with the steering wheel still on?

The one in the engine bay, you can see it in this borrowed pic near the rack mount, it fixes almost where the wire is laying.



While your steering wheel is off check the copper tab is clean where it makes contact with the back of the steering wheel too.

Will get out tomorrow and have a look and see if I can find the wire and get the wheel off too
