Sorry for the delay in the pictures I went to take some pictures during my lunch but they as covered in dirt from 26 years.


A bit of cleaning with wet wipes and you can see the coloured wires, passengers side light.


Headlight connector, white wire is the highbeam as it runs to the lights in the grill.


Connector to the lights in the grill, high beam lights


Connector to high beam lights in grill


Washer bottle connector.


Goes into the loom. The red connector is for the indicators as the car has an after market alarm, that's also why there is some extra wire, some wrapped in tape.

in case its not clear from the above grey/red is the sidelight power, trace the loom back till you find the original wire and splice it to the sidelight bulb holder. The other pin on sidelight is brown which is earth, tap this into any brown wire kicking about on this side.

green/red is the washer pump power, again the other pin is earth so again tap it into one of the other browns as above

Thanks guys, got it sorted traced the grey/red wire and it was broken so joint it up and bingo it works,  :thumbs: the previous owner has some black wire going to nothing lol, glad it's done and sorted, the fog light on the grill need wiring up but that can be done one it's MOTED, as I believe you just need rear light for mot lol hope that's working now, thanks again guys appreciate the pictures mark and the advice john top blokes appreciate it, been bit busy lately so haven't been to involved do need to get it sorted has been good weather and I think the GTI NEEDS TO SEE SOME TARMAC AFTER 9 YEARS LOL  :thumbs:
