Dashboard light suddenly stopped working

Suddenly the dashboard light on my '75 golf stopped working. Anyone know what may cause it? The gauges in the center console has stopped working as well. All fuses are intact.

trace all your grey/blue wires back towards the fusebox, they come off the spade G/4 this may have just popped off

There was a (grey/white)/blue wire at G/4, but it was connected. Looks like I have to take apart the instrument panel to take a look there..

maybe an earth popped off the back, theres a spade on the rear of the speedo metal part which earths many of the dash bulbs
