cabrio 1987

Hello

Its looks like the current is not stable in my car

All the electricity looks like flickering – that include the head light, all the bulbs in the car.. even the radio

I measured the current at the battery while the engine is running and it read 14.3 V at 1000 RPM

What Cause that current not to be stable ?

It a cabrio 1987

Thanks

Uri

I not good with electrics but most things on these old cars seems to stem from earthing problems so the first thing I would do is clean up and check all the main earthing points on the car and the earth from the battery.

take the brush pack off the back of the alternator (2 screws) then clean up the 2 contact points. theres one under a screw head, the other is inside the hole the pack comes out of theres a metal spring pin thing in there. make sure that and the contact pad on the brush pack are clean. also check the brushes have plenty of meat left on them, if worn away replace the brush pack
