help please

Hi All
Quick question and assistance if possible.
I checked on the roof solenoid in my cabby and eveything seems to be running fine, however no fluid in the solenoid so it needs a top up as dont want to cause any damage.

1 - What fluid should be used?
2 - How is it filled up?

Many thanks

Matt

Remove boot card that has the large hole in it by pressing the small pins out through the middle of the round clips. Don't lose the pins as you will need them when you replace the cards later.

You MUST check the fluid level with the roof down otherwise you will get a false reading.
The level should be inbetween min/max indicators.

Check all connections to the pump body and all the hose/ram joints for leaks. You may find fluid in the boot area. If yopu have leaks from the joins I used plumbers PTFE tape and remade the connections. No leaks since.
Check the plastic resevoir is intact. These can split around the mounting holes that secure it to the pump base, causing a leak.

Undo the T shaped key that prodtrudes from the pump body by turning anti clockwise, this doesn't unscrew off.

Open filler bung on top ofthe pump body.

Fill through hole until desired level is reached. You can use a medicine syringe to assist.

Operate the top manually up and down a  couple of times.

Replace filler bung so it's just slightly loose operate again manually.

Now tighten T screw on pump body operate electrically and finally tighten bung screw up.
