Alternator

Took the alternator off to clean up…put it back together,not charging…renewed the regulator still not charging…removed the alternator only thing different was I hadn't replaced the screw in the pic would this prevent it working properly ?as its a right ……. to put it back on if it isn't the problem and I have to get the alternator tested ?

What was wrong with it then?

The screw in the picture should have been on the inside holding the rectifier in place
