Is their any differnce between the 1.6 gti loom and the 1.8 gti loom?

functionality wise early 1.8 loom is the same, later loom has some extra wiring for the over-run cutoff plus the idle control valve thingy. this can all be binned off on an early engine or if you have all the parts you can use it choice is yours.

fusebox plug wise the 1.6 looms differ from very late 1.8 looms as the fusebox changed in 1982/3, earlier 1.8 looms plug n play.

oh! really early 1.6 engines have points ignition so the wiring to the dizzy and coil differs, if yours is points try to convert to electronic ignition if possible much better system

I mite have mine up for sale after the Vr6 conversion if your not in a rush!

Ideally want a new one tbh, there is one in the car but it's been butchered to fit bits n pieces
