Hi can anyone shed some light on which way round the rubbing strips go on a mk1? I thought they went with the larger rubber strip to the bottom but now a friend tells me otherwise! :ocf_emoticons__BangHead: Picture would be great I know which strip goes where on the car just which way up! Thanks

i think its the larger rubber at the bottom.
if you look at the trims which go on the doors there should be a flat bit. this goes at the bottom facing front of car

On my Cabrio the wider part is at the bottom.

It has a chrome coloured part on the narrower top part which obviously wouldn't be visible if the wide part was upper most. So I think they were designed to be fitted wider part at bottom.

Watsons yellow 5 door has the trim the other way around. I questioned this but he says they have always been on with wider part top.

They can physically be swapped from one side of the car to the other which moves the wider part from being at the bottom to the top, so its possible that in the factory they slapped them on any which way esp if there was no chrome insert to worry about?
