Sunroof Help

Hi, i need some help with my slide sunroof. It winds back and forward fine but i have to push it down from the outside to start it off and push it up at the end when closing.

Does anyone know what it could be that is stopping it from raising and dropping?

Do you have the plastic feet fitted to the lifter arms at the front and the back of the sunroof. If the sunroof has been taken out at some point these may be missing or mis aligned.

Take off the inner trim panel and you will see the guides are not working correctly and also may need adjustment.

I will get the cover off at the weekend and let you know what i find.

Ok, so i habe had a quick look at the sunroof and can see one of the plastic pieces with the roller on the driver side has cracked. It no longer holds the roller pin in tightly.

Is this causing the problem?

As far as I can remember The plastic feet at the front are used to lower/raise the wind deflector when the sunroof moves forward/backwards. You do have the wind deflector fitted to your car i assume? The plastic feet at the rear are used to guide the roof back/forward. I am not sure what makes the sunroof lower and raise and I am no where near my car until after Christmas to have a look. If the plastic bits are broken they should be replaced, I think I got mine from VW Heritage, but I do not think this will solve your problem.  Other than that maybe try removing the felt seal around the sunroof and see if you can work out what is going on/wrong.
