Smoothed tailgate

Hi dubbers ,
Anychance i could have abit of help/advice on what to do because i have a smoothed bootlid and i want to have it locked all the time untill i flick a flick switch and it releases what motor or what info can i get on this because its stoping my project from being on the road atm

A friend of mine has this on his mk1.
It is wired up so that the 'pushing' of the rear wiper stalk actuates the boot release solenoid.

Not sure how it all got wired etc, but it's a very neat solution.
