Hi all,
Sometime ago I replaced the front wings on my 82 gti as they were shot, particularly around the arches - usual corrosion under the arch spats.
My question is what to do with the original wings? For some reason I never scrapped them and I look at them now and wonder if there is any value, intrinsically or otherwise in having them repaired by a decent metalworker? What are the experts opinions? Otherwise I'll just get shot of them as they're taking up valuable space!

Well, if yours are fine, and you own only one car, then offer them on ebay as Concourse ready for 1000 quid each.
In my most recent move, I pitched a set of tornado red ones as I offered them free and no one wanted them, no dings, no scratches……

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

You're humour may be lost on me I'm afraid…
They're not concourse as I explained and I can't believe no-one wanted a free set of (by my reading of it) immaculate, genuine mk1 wings but thanks for taking the time to read my post and reply.
I would feel wrong disposing of genuine wings if there is a possibility of repair, when these things are harder and harder to come by.

The humor was for the concourse GTI in the other thread.

how rusty are they?, I would prefer to fix genuine wings than use aftermarket ones but not sure if many others feel the same, I have the wings off this but will probably scrap them as don't need any at the moment
