Seat base cover

Post

Hi people! Is it possible to just take the base cover off the seat without taking the whole seat apart? All my material is mint and the seats work perfect but my base bolster has gone but I have a mint replacement from a passenger seat so would like to try fit that without challenging the integrity of the rest of my seat lol!

There is only a couple of screws/bolts holding the back rest onto the base so it's not that difficult to split them, it will be easier than trying to work on the seat with the back attached.

Yea I kinda knew it was only a couple of bolts on the pivot point but I was just abit worried about disturbing the cables lol! Are they easy to reconnect too?

No cables to disconnect.

I go into detail on taking the seats apart etc. I've done this before.
You can lift the cover and cushion away in one go.
But turn the cover edges inside out when you come to refit makes things easier.

The cloth base is attached by rods that hook into the foam cushion wires. Simply compress the cushion to give you slack if your changing them over onto different cushions.
The seat foam cushions and covers are the same for drivers or passenger side.
However the metal seat bases aren't as they have the seat belt retainer as set for each side.
Neither are the back rests as there are slits where the seat tilt mech comes through.
Take a look at my how to good pics there too.

you have to split the backrest off regardless, there are holes in the sides of the materials for the tilt pivot and lock peg to go through. only way to do it without takign backrest off woudl be to cut the fabric!

buy as above dead easy to split. poke 3 log pegs out of the trim plastics in the corners and unclip, tilt seat then pop off the 2 circlips at the tilt pivots and off they come
