Guys,
Time for a bone question.
I'm rebuiling my Cabby, post extensive body work and a respary.
I'm after the name of the clips that hold the boot trim panel on and if possible a place that sells them please?
I snapped the little buggers when removing the panel!
Thanks very much in advance!!
Jay

If it's the trim panel which covers the boot lock I got some for a Mk2 golf from VW for a few pence each.
I'll try and find the part number and a picture as they are very nearly the same as the ones listed for a Mk1 golf
Look like this but the are ALOT cheaper at VW so don't buy these.

801 867 299 01c is the VW part number for the ones I bought the only difference is they don't have a textured head like the ones fitted to the mk1. I can't find my receipt but If you call a VW dealer they will tell you the price, I think they was something like 20 pence each, I bought 20 of the them and kept some as spares as I find they seem to break when ever you take any trim off the car.

Thanks for your help guys.
VW quoted me a part number: 531 807 817
They reckon that they stopped produing them earlier this year though.
I'm sure that I'll be able to find some now though, armed with all this information.
Great forum, thanks eveyone!!

531 807 817 are the number plate surround clips? I thought you wanted the clips that hold the trims on inside the boot lid?

righto then, heritage have em in the shop but NLA right now, may be worth dropping an email to see fi they might get more in?
tbh they're pretty standard clips you'll probably find replacements on the bay of e from other cars or pattern jobbers. Have a mooch around on here too they have quite a few VW style clips:
