Moisture in boot

Front foot well leak could be due to scuttle drain tubes blocked - check at each end of the scuttle. If the tubes (about an inch dia.) are blocked with leaves and crud, water will fill up the scuttle and spill over where the heater motor sits, in to your footwell.

Also if the black plastic scuttle cover is missing or cracked water will get in this way

Ah fair enough, one less point to leak from!

May be a carpet out job and some talc sprinkled everywhere and a hose pipe on the outside!

The tar sealent on mine is has gone hard and the rubber surround just sits on top of it, im also getting water dripping down the inside of the C pillar, whats the best way to get the old tar off and re apply new sealent. I tried wax oiling all around the rubber seal but it looks a complete mess and did not stop the water getting in.

What would be the advice for removing the old sealant and applying the new stuff? I've bought a new boot seal and rear light seals too. I'm gussing these just go on without any form of sealant?

Not sure there would be an easy way of getting the old off.
Obviously you don't want to scrape it too much as you will damage the paint but there maybe no other way.

You could try warming it up with a paint stripper heat gun   and see if it softens it but go careful and mind the head lining and tailgate wiring tubes.
I scraped mine off as it didn't matter because it was going for a repaint.
You shouldn't need any additional sealer for the back lights. If you do you may struggle to get them out in the future should you need to.

I wondered what the black stuff was! yes it has gone hard, maybe i need to re-silicone it?

Don't use silicone. Go to your local body paint supplier and ask for Polyurethane windscreen sealer ( in black!)

Example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-Seal-TIG-NB-Polyurethane/dp/B002SQY852/ref=pd_cp_auto_2
