Chrome exterior strips - 1986 Mk1 Golf GTI Convertible

Post

Gents in the know. Back in good old 1988 I purchased a then 2/3 year old Golf GTI Convertible, was my pride and joy …… still remember the reg: C462 MAM The big bumper model came out several years later so I promptly swapped the bumpers and wheel arches etc for the big bumper alternative. Having found all of the stuff I took off in my Mums loft - all I have remaining is the pair of thin chrome strips that run along beneath the doors. Would anyone know what these are actually called? (I do have photos but for the life of me can't figure out how to upload to the forum) Thank you for your time. (I am also looking to purchase a Mk1 Convertible and am looking for a completely original unmolested example should anyone know someone who is selling one)

Hi Scott.

Many thanks for taking the time to respond and for the link - that is exactly what I have remaining from my old '86 GTI Cab.

Re the quest to find my mid like crisis replacement Cabriolet ……… the slow search shall continue …… there are some fantastic examples on here that have sold over the months.
