Staight forward job if you are fitting a new roof skin, undo the 4 bolts at the bottom and slide out the 2 plastic pegs at the top which are fitted the the webbing which runs to the front of the roof. Can't imagine its possible without a new roof as the roof is stapled to the window frame.
How old is your roof?

I did mine about 6 months ago. Like you the hood was brand new but the window frame was rotten

You simple in bolt it and remove the staples that hold it in. Replace it and use a proper stapler with long staples to attach the hood fabric to the new frame.

Don't forget to use sealant all around the window as you fit the rubber seal.

If you follow the instructions on here for replacing the hood (just the rear window bit obviously) you can't go wrong. It took be about 3 hours.

You can see the frame in this picture.

I had the same issue on mine.

I'm not good at stuff like this so gave it to Classic Car Services in Thurmaston to sort out and crazyquiffs supplied the new frame…
