Mk1 1.5 to 9a twin dellorto fuel relay question

Hi all,
I'm a wiring noob and would appreciate some help please!
I'm currently preparing to put a 9a engine with twin dellorto carbs in my 1983 1.5gl.
i have an inline electric fuel pump to replace the mechanical fuel pump that exists in the car at the moment but am unsure as to where the pump relay should be located.
I've trawled the FAQs for pictures of fuse boxes but can't find anything quite like the one in my car!

Can I bypass the fuse box all together and place a stand alone relay with fuse elsewhere in the car?

cheers,

Will

thats the ceramic fusebox, fuel relay goes in slot L and the fuel pump power pin is A/8.

However they are notorious for burning out the pump pin, plus if your fusebox is from a carb it may not even have the internal circuits for the fuel relay anyway

my recommendation would be to bag a VW fuse and relay holder, then fit a kjet fuel relay above the fusebox.  you could go for a tintop relay with built in fuse but these could be hard to find, the later CE1 fusebox relays are readily available.

relay number, vw part number / kraker number / GSF number:
2 = 321906059D/E / 3.300.210 / 935VG0090 = no limiter (superceeded by 321906059E-F)
63 = 321906059F / 24.1400.20 / 935VG0090 = no limiter

wire it like so:
15 - ignition live, spade G/3
30 - permanent live H spade, via 10-15a fuse (depending on pump draw)
31 or 85 - earth claw
31b - tapped to the coil -ve red/black wire to C/19
87 - to fuel pump
