Anything can be done with modification. But I offered up an Autocavan style pedal box and a CQ electric conversion and there is no way that they would both fit at the same time

Hi,

I have done the conversion to electric power steering to my wife`s rocco using Corsa bits. I definitely don`t think that there is room to mod the brakes as well. Fitting the power steering conversion unit stops any further work in that area due to space limitation. the floorpan of the rocco is the same as the mk1 and space is limited.

Best Wishes
Gerry
ps  Putting another one back on the road and she who must be obeyed says she wants power steering on that one!

I opted for the full hydraulic system on mine. Took it off in December and I shan't be tampering  with such things again. I undertook a lot of research on the pas conversions and from what I can still see, none are ideal. Loss of feel, not centering, too light, my issue: toe out on turning (new to me, but the only cure was ditch the pas and resort to a new standard rack).

Adding a couple of PSI to the front tyres also helps, I run at 28 instead of the 26 recommended and not had any problems with tyre wear.
Have you got the original size wheels and tyres 185/60/14? Running bigger fatter tyres also makes the steering heavier.
Try not to turn the steering wheel while stationary even a little movement backwards or forwards makes a differeance.
