more info into crossflow heads and bike carbs , and everyones own coversion

well im pretty new on here and i read more into what people do than post my own input but recently i have looked into doing a crossflow conversion and bike carbs and searching the web its clear that little is known about these conversions . anyway my names rob and i own a citi golf okay its abit of a fake mk1 but it still counts , its got a 1.3 engine but its the big block so i can put lots of lovely 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 gear on it which is great to make a nice little revy engine . any way here is my citi its not perfect but i love it

so looking into doing a crossflow conversion and it seems fairly basic. After having a read into the conversion it seems fairly simple allot of the patterns on the head are the same even upto the 20v engines the technology is still the same , i know that one difference is one of the oil gallerys is an oval shape but i have heard that using a g60 metal head gasket will work and have no issues as im not great with a tig and dont wanna risk warping the head by welding it .
so this is the crossflow head galleries

and this is the standard galleries

i was wondering if anyone had done this conversion ? it would be very interesting to see whats been done and how you got round the gallerie problem .
anyway the only other difference is one coolant pipe is longer and its on the front of the head instead of on the side .

after having a read its to my understanding that these heads produce more power than that of a standard head that has been ported and polished but im not sure of the figures ,  the setup is perfect for bike carbs and getting the induction away from the heat produced by the exhaust manifold and also turbo conversions so i thought this thread might help a few people aswell as myself , i want to know what you have done and the setups you run . here are a few i have seen so far

I prefer facet over bike pumps personally.

Maye runs a pump from then states that's incredible, silent and reliable but the name escapes me.

Bike pump
You have zero control fuel wise which I didn't like.

Do you mean the pressure of the bike pump isnt controlled ? .

Ordered a head been removed from a low milage 1.6 audi a3 and i have stripped and rebuilt the carbs with drillled jets to 160 . Ill upload some pictures when the head arrives

with crossflow head fitting, it depends on what engien code its from as there are a couple styles. the US spec ABA is straight fit as its designed to fit a MK3 AGG/ADY block. some of the MK4 type heads will need extra holes welding up and a skim!
