Cars too low for the chassis to take.. Advice please!

Post

Recently had my brum on the ramp and everything underneath is knocking on the chassis and the arms are at quite an angle..
I don't really want to raise my car, as I love the lowness of it.. 35mm and to be honest I would like to be lower. Is there anyway around it?
I don't want to get smaller wheels really as they already are 13"s and I'm not really a fan of the size.
Maybe I'm just being a complete girl and really fussy about this.
Advice please guys!

the car would have been designed all those years ago to have the wishbones sat horizontally at the standard height as this dictates a better geometry. by lowing it a long way your going to make the arms and legs point towards the sky. things start to hit, i know my old polo you used to hear the anti roll bar knock on the chassis lower it a bit more it sat on the chassis.

my mk1 before its restoration use to have a million knocks and bangs because it was sat on the floor and really stiff suspension, not a whole lot you can do.

from my experience the bits that are probably hitting are tyre on arches you can have them pulled and rolled?

i know i had a drive shaft rub slightly on the leg were the suspensions settled over time, lift it immediately if it is. and if you dont want to lift it youll have to cut a notch into the leg but i advise against cutting up mk1's.  :(

Chassis notch will stop you hitting your chassis legs

As for the arms being at an angle you can only modify the wishbone mounts to alter the angle a bit to help aid the arms.

And you can flip the tie rod so that's level again

I really don't want to chop my car up, it's better if I leave things in tact! So what's the easier/best way to solve this given all your advice?!
