So ive not been on here for a while after just selling my scirocco and buying a whole mk4 with APU and k03s and a remap on 90k. I am going to transplant into a mk1. 

After alot of research the mounts I need are 2 gearbox mounts and a cambelt side one. These seem to be quite expensive around 70 each, but I have came across some epytec ones from a company called bolt action and shipped to the uk  is working out at around 120… 
Has anyone else used these mounts? They seem pretty cheap is there any reason for this? 

Also am I right in thinking I have a o2j in my mk4 golf? I plan to use the seat adaptor to convert to cable clutch. Am I right in thinking I will need to use o2a tower from a mk3? As that will fit with the seat adaptor? Where as the tower on the box standard wont? 

Thanks in advance for the help guys. I think im right in what I say after my hours of research..
Just need a bit of comfirmation before I start spending.. :-)

I've not done exactly what you are planning, but I have used epytec mountings. They are fine in my opinion. I did modify both of mine but that was nothing to do with the quality of the product.

Also, I have a mk3 shift tower you may be interested in. I can't offer any help on the technical issues of fitting the parts though as I don't have that experience.

use everything from the 02J for the gearbox shifter don't downgrade to 02A stuff.

though i'd sack the clutch cable off and go full hydro

As much as i'd like to sell you the mk3 shift tower, I agree with JonP and don't think you'll need it.
I have the 02j shifter tower mounted on a 02a box with the cable shift leaver. Works well. I don't think the 02a & 02j cases are that much different, but could be wrong…
The cable clutch is fine, I don't know why people add the hydro as it is so much more effort and my cable clutch is nice and light and it feels more 'mk1 like'.

The big thing with the cable clutch is this silly concept of cutting the outer sleeve to make it fit. I wasn't happy with that so I modified my bracket so a standard clutch cable fits.

I have recently fitted the epytec mounts on my AGU.  Was happy with the quality but had to modify the rear gearbox mount to fit my O2A for some reason.  Mine was originally a 1300 driver so may have been the reason.  Simple stuff if you have a MIG and some steel to hand or know someone that does! The gearbox side mount has a clutch cable bracket welded on, which im using with the SEAT cable adapters.  You will have to fab up a reversing light switch though as you have to remove it to fit the mount.

Thanks for advice guys. Check my build thread ive justs started.. I have a mk1 1.6 gti with a 20vt k04 sat in it and gears working :-) wiring is next problem... :-)
