We told him to call the beaver but he never bothered. 

Managed to get the kilts out on the wed for the show too. Mixed reactions i think alot of germans had never seen a kilt before. 

Were just coming off the boat and heading to a gregs lol feels like a end to the holiday but least ill get to see the wife n dog soon lol

Had a good time all in all be looking forward to the next adventure dunno where though any thoughts?

Just in the door 11 days away 2481 miles four high Mountain passes in Austria, Slovenia and Italy, two laps of the Nurburgring (highly addictive) and not forgetting the Worthersee Show and all the cars. I will later on get my photos up. My wee GTi managed overall a respectable 45.25mpg. We did need to use only once though the reflective vest and red triangle for a minor problem in the high Alps she got a wee bit hot and bothered.

Thanks for starting this Unofficial Page It is an experience never to forget.  The tips along the way were very helpful.


To those reading and enjoying the whole blog and thought twice about it I would highly recommend making the effort next year or at some point as you definitely wont be disappointed with the experience.

I'm really pleased you had a great time the both of you.
You were far more adventurous than we were this time but I think age may play it's small part in that!    

It must be a good feeling to know that your MK1 is capable of such a trip with the mileage, the Mountains and with just one tiny hiccup.  

Did you keep a daily diary of your trip as it would be nice to read about what happened and to see some pics on a day by day basis, from start to finish?

Anyhow, glad your all back in one piece and holding some fabulous memories!

So when do we get to enjoy part 2!!!!! The tunnel shots are outstanding my friend! Sorry about the spacing of the text but I am using a laptop in a restaurant from a friend  of mine and his browser does not like me! .

Mind you it is 8:30pm here and is still 28 degrees!
