The 'UNOFFICIAL' Road Trip Wörthersee 2015.

Cheers Stone ! Went past about 7ish tonight but there wasn't a great amount of people there. Weather has been a bit wet today so not too many people driving about , unlike yesterday when it was nice and sunny !!
  Took a few photos but it's just taken 15 minutes to upload these 2 so i'll upload the rest once i'm home on Sunday.

I got the impression from the locals that the two weeks before are busier than the week of the event and the week after now - partly in protest at high ticket prices and heavy-handed polizei. Wasn't desperately impressed with them myself, we witnessed an accident just past the Eni (tractor with a full trailer of hay lost two wheels, dumped the hay all over the road and then rolled tractor + trailer into a ditch - damn lucky the wheels didn't hit anyone as they were bouncing along the pavement) and they seemed much more interest in issuing tickets for burnouts

Got home yesterday afternoon. Old girl never missed a beat after 2600 mile round trip  

Went in by Nurburgring on the way up the road. Done the ring taxi which was mega. gopro footage of trip and ring taxi to follow once edited.

Apline coaster in Lienz also worth a visit. About a 2 hour drive from Velden along a B road with stunning scenery.

Highly recommend all to make the trip down at some point. Had a ball.

It never got a wash the whole trip Mike !

Just finished washing and getting rid of millions of flies this morning.

TBH it's having a well earned rest in the garage for a couple of weeks now. If I was making the long trip round Europe again, as Stone has mentioned I would also probably be taking something newer. Have done what I've always wanted to do with it now tho and it was a cracking trip

Not defending the Police in anyway here but I speak as I find.
We were there for 6 days and yes there was a heavier Police presence as one would expect but I have no complaints for a change.
Most of the time they were parked up, a few driving around but didn't see any heavy handedness at all.

Might be that they left me alone because I'm driving an Austrian plated, standard car. That or I was always in the wrong places.
When I drove back on Saturday afternoon up the A2 Motorway I had one behind me for 23 Km's through the long stretch of road works, doing 80/60/50/30.
He had all the time in the World to pull me (just for the fun of it but didn't).

As for doing "burnouts" in front of a Policeman, I'm just wondering what they would do back home!  
They'd throw the book at you and that's just for starters, I would imagine.

I'm going back next year without a doubt, had the time of my life.

arrived a few hours ago.. drove yesterday Soll, Kitzbuhel, grossglockner pass 2575mm it was snowing at the top ice on the road. Stayed in Liienz. Last night. Having a ball.

Just got back from Reifnitz and though that it was pretty decent ! Weather was good , cars were better !! and enjoyed the experience. Took some photos but the inet connection is too…. slow in the apartment , so have uploaded to instagram.

We had tons of pictures till my mate left his camera in a taxi. Caught up with the taxi yesterday and after trying to drive away an looking like he just filled his drawers he point blank denied haveing it thanks Ya douche

  ebo Really should have phoned the Police straight away while you had him there and I'll explain why.
The crime rate here is very low and one of the lowest in Europe.
But the chances are the Taxi driver is not an Austrian, so what they call an "Auslander". The Police here take a strong stance on petty crime but an "Auslander" stealing from a Tourist is an absolute no, no. More so when they are in a position of trust like this!

Ok, many taxi drivers will chose a longer route but that's the same the world over but stealing, now that's a different matter.

So, sorry to here this but I hope you had a great time and you will think about coming back again!

Got back last night.

Amazing 10 days, stayed in munich on way down, really cool city.

Austria was stunning so many cool places, we chilled most of the time, went to the show on the wednesday but that was really it car wise apart from few scattered meets we went to.

How many cabs are down there?!? lol.

Went to the the porsche museum and the damm up the malta pass. Went down to venice for the day,another amazing place.

Rest of the time was just spent either chilling watching my mate shoot some cars or just sitting outside the casino watching the world go by.

Only got in trouble once for being on a closed road, 36 euro fine so werent to bad.

Left on friday drove down to stelvio, views were amazing but nothing compared to when we dropped down into switzerland, way to pretty!!!

stopped in zurich friday night, drove up for the night in paris on saturday, love paris just walked around saw the sights, watched the illegal street gambling funny seeing them all scatter everytime the polices went past.

Then home last night.

Will hopefully be going next year, Will take the cab

All in all was one of the best holidays ive been on.
