The 'UNOFFICIAL' Road Trip Wörthersee 2015.

Just got back from the Italy - Slowenien road trip.
That was fun.  
Bought two shirts in Tavisio Italy and had a beer in Kranjska Gora (ski resort).  

My Wife's a bit chewy because she been sitting in the blazing heat for so long with a 50 year old acting like 5 when he gets to some bends!  

But to be fair I did put up with a Thermal Spa three day trip for her last month.  

I'll write a bit more later when I'm on a normal keyboard.

Cheers Craig  only seen one other standard mk1 so far. Every car you see is pimped.

I must got there the next time I'm out this way.  

The wife and I popped down the road from our Hotel for dinner last nigh and look what was hiding in the car park!







And it is for sale!
I told my Wife the price and she nearly fainted.  
I'll let you all think about the asking price for a day or two and will post up a picture on Sunday with the for sale sign.  

Right first some breakie and then we are taking the Ferry down to Velden for a few hours!

Well my week has nearly come to an end but what a week I've had, outstanding or perfect doesn't do it justice.  
Trust me, I'm not easy to please but anyhow from today I want to share firstly just this one photo.



Lets see who can recognize the big fella in a beard, looking a lot like the Austrian Euro-vision Song contest Winner (Conchita Wurst) but a little heavier?  
Looks like the Co-Driver has a tin of 'Stiegl' beer in his hand.
Nothing wrong with that though, isn't that how we ended up with the book 'Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy', no I think it was 'Goesser Beer'!

Just got here now and can't believe how nice the drive through Austria was ! 
  First port of call is to find somewhere to watch the football ! Did the trip in two parts after stopping in Frankfurt at 3am then setting off at 9.30. 18 hours total

Be prepared to be blown away by the cars, I know myself and stretch were by the shear variety and the money that's spent.    

I'll post up some more stuff later when I've rested a bit more, I'm so knackered this morning.

Hello everyone!!

We got the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam arrive Thursday then headed straight to nurburgring! 
Took jetty round - twice - was absolutely mental! Screamed and laughed all the way round - never experienced anything like it! Stayed the night in a hotel overlooking the gp track - where on Friday morning we were woken by testing for a race weekend! Managed to get into one of the stands to watch! Totally surreal! Loved it and def going to go back for a full race wkend!

Next drive to Munich and had a quick morning there on the Saturday. And now in the Austrian mountains. Beautiful view as we eat breakfast in the chalet.

Jetty is turning lots of heads which is great and so far has been running perfectly! 

I'll see of I can remember how to work photobucket and post pics  

So, I'm sure you want to know the price of this bad boy!

Does anybody know where is best to go in faakersee to check out some dubs ?

Ad. 

Head for Camping Arneitz (Seeufer-Landesstraße 53, 9583 Finkenstein am Faaker See). You'll figure out pretty quickly if there's anybody still there as it'll be rammed! Same with the area around the Eni petrol station in Mischkulnig (Roseggerstrasse 15, 9220 Velden), there's loads of parking for the nearby Spar supermarket. Be prepared for long queues as you approach either spot…

Got back home on Sunday - fortunately just a short hop as we returned via Scheyern (near Munich - stayed at a monastery brewery…), Leipnitz, Wolfsburg and Düsseldorf. The VW factory is a great day out - didn't go on the tours as they were all booked out, but just wandering about was fantastic. Be warned, compared to the others the Lambourghini pavilion is totally schitt A truly epic drive and I've got some interesting suntan patterns on my hands from the steering wheel now! Only had to fix Klaus twice (perished and leaky coolant hose - fortunately it was a bit too long and I could just snip the last 3" off, plus one temporary fix) so I think I did pretty well. Will definitely do it again, perhaps not in anything quite so slow…or automatic.
