I take it GSF and VW dont do them any more then?

I would just measure the old ones and try and match them up to a bolt on a site like Namrick, I've found them really useful for little bits and bobs for my engine conversion.

Should be available from the main dealership, I paid @£3.50 for each frnt pivot bolt recently its overpriced but at least I know they're the correct grade.

still avail, your dealer prob doesn't know how to check for part number supercession. new numbers are:

N   010 470 1 - bolt, m10x70 - 1.79+VAT
N   102 090 09 - nut, m10 - 0.42+VAT

Seen several posts about these bolts, thought not quite that easy, i want some myself, big boys toys sounded promising but not heard anything. You can always try a nut/bolt stockist who will most likely be able to supply the size but will probably only be 8.8 strength, allen bolt head come in the higher strength but may be tricky to tighten in situ, assuming can find the correct size.

The bolts are M12x1.5 (fine thread) 148mm length. Beware, there's 2 fine threads for M12 bolts commonly used, 1.25mm and 1.5mm. But then if you're getting new nuts at the same time, it would not matter if you got the finer ones.

A quick 5 minute googls shows £32.61 for 50 bolts and £8 for 200 nuts. Can't find anyone doing them in smaller quantities (yet!)

I have changed the complete front and rear suspension now and got all the parts from either the VW dealer or VW classic parts in Germany. They got all kinds of cool new replacement parts in Germany. Guess VW is showing some love for the mk1.

Jase any chance you could check for a m12/1.5pitch x 120mm long. Long shot but i gotta try!

pivot bolt is deleted but you can order it thru vw classic parts. your dealer can do this, but that depends if he knows how or can be bothered.

N   040 157 3 - M12x1.5x148

you can order them yourself direct from the vw classic parts centre too:

I'v ended up tracking some M12 150mm bolts from a tractor place near by, only thing is you can't seem to get bolts off the shelf with a 10.2 tensile rating.. 8.8 is the best i'v found..
