I just back from a 5500 mile round trip in the "Dreamboat 5000", formerly known as "Black Mamba" - stick that in your pipe and smoke it mars.

I'll pop by if I amn't working (find out in the next couple of days).

it's just a bit of banter, last meet mars warned a fellow roadtripper not to come with.  

Lasting 5200 miles was actually a massive proving wrong to a lot of people, including my dad and friends…

they are all currently being told to smoke it, or some other suitably hilarious "in your face" comment.

i hate to say it but the more this week goes on the less money i have, im not going to be able to make this

still dont know what is happening yet whether ill be there the course may be cancelled waiting for confirmation

but maybe goin to edition 38 too arghhhhh too many things happening

Hopefully it all goes ahead, as i have just came home from offshore and would love to attend a MK1 meet 8) My car isnt finished yet as i still have the full interor to put back in but the car is roadworthy and would do it good to stretch its legs.
Anybody else coming down from the north east of scotland area?
I will be traveling down from Aberdeen

Not long back from my hols & didn't know about this meet. I've not really had much of a chance to try out my car since (hopefully) curing the fuel problem. I've had a wee run about but not managed to try it out up the motorway. Thats where the problems started, when I tried giving it a boot. But anyway, if I can make it I'll be there. Just got a new phone with sat nav on it & I've got the route planned out on it already, so I'll hopefully try it out & see if it gets me there. Apparently it's 44 mile & 1hr 22 mins from bonnybridge. (smart arse eh) 8)

How many folk are we expecting to attend?
I will prob be traveling down myself, unfortunately i wont know any of you guys that are coming but this will be a good chance to get some introductions  8)

Meant to say, any rules about my wee boy coming with me, he's only 3 & he loves running about with me in the Golf. We actually spotted a mark 3 & when I told him it was a Golf he said "no it's not, it's not got round headlights"

i doubt very much that there would be a problem with a 3 year old. it is lunch time after all.

Any new people, dont worry about being an outsider, we are all very welcoming!  :mrgreen:

Sounds about right, depending on the bridge traffic should take about an hour.  I'll be parked in the same spot as last time  :wink:

Not sure on the numbers dude, anything that beat the first meets total would be good   
Wouldn't worry about not knowing anyone, there are a few of us that have only met once before. I had my reservations before the first meet but everyone was very nice & welcoming. It was good to meet like minded souls who have a love of the Mk1
