Just got back, it was a reasonable turnout with 6 Mk1s and plenty of people too. Mk2dubclub had 2 people. I think its partly due to GTI Spring Festival, and partly because of the F1 Grand Prix, and probably a couple of others on different days out etc.

The weather was glorious - maybe a little bit too hot - but I aint complaining! Anyway, here are the pics. I took decent ones of all the other cars, I have millions of my own already so I forgot to take another "at NWM18".

Thanks for all the compliments! It still has a few little niggles, and the bodywork needs a good sorting out (maybe a respray at the end of the summer).

I've started a thread on NWM19 here, please let's hear all your views on it!

I only recently got my MK1, and I have a MK2. I found that taking the missus to a show was a great idea, as long as she only had to wander round looking at cars for about an hour. If you chose a place that had a few diverse attractions I'd probably get to stay longer.

I havent been in a convoy yet, not a proper one. But the groups if driven to event with have been fun on the way down with all the meet ups. I like that idea, but given im a 1.1 FormelE I'd be back of the pack tackle.  :banghead: + only the missus is insured to drive the MK1 atm as a provisional. I wouldnt be there as I wouldnt have the MK1 with me

On the purist Mk1 meet thing:

If you got the right numbers in reasonable travelling distances then you can afford to be purist about the meets. But i love the benifits of having a camper turn up with a bunch of hippys and a sound system. Cant fit a PA and 3 bongo players in a Mk1, and thats entertainment….  :P

I'm a 1.1 to matey!, you can be at the back of the pack with me    you could so fit 3 bongo players in a mk1, don't know about the pa though and as for the hippies, i don't think we have to many in our chapter, but if thats your thing at least i look like one.
