:lmao: …. chuckle brothers aint we… good job we haven't had to do anything difficult yet bud

I'm defo going to this but maybe not in mk1.  The wheel bearing cap popped off tonight and took the hubcap with it  8O .  Grease on the recess where the studs are…. I can see the retaining nut and cir-clip but it doesn't feel right when I drive it a bit to see what's wrong  :( .  All I need after the vectra packed in.  I've left it in a pub car park until I can get to it in the light.  I may be in the missus pug convertible (aka crap mobile).

When you jacked the car up was the wheel wobbly?

No it didn't wobble but didn't really test it… was trying to see if it was grease or brake fluid… I'll try it when I go get it in the light over the weekend.  If it wobbles then obviously it's a no-no for driving but could it get worse when driving if it isn't wobbling?  I need an A fame … for my mk1's… would come in really hand taking both to shows or collecting them when broken down.

Cool I'll give that a shot… doesn't look like I can collect it until Sunday….. it's about 30-40 mins from my house so at 30mph-40mph that's going to be a whole day

good news about the slanket spudders, mrs has her's on at the minute!!! :) only cause i'm to tight to put the heating on

bad news on the motor mate, but a wheel bearing is a simple fix mate when you get it home, if it's the rear then you could fix that in the car park :)

where's it parked up? if it's 40min north then it won't be far from my house

Near that shell garge we met at bud.from my dads it's 30-40 minutes away depending on traffic.  Thanks for the offer matt bud.  I'm going to have a look around it later today if I can drive it then I will…. here's hoping aye.

Well…… 3 hours later, many phone calls to my dad etc the mk1 is finally at home.  The bearing collapsed on me as I was nursing it home… got about 4 miles into the journey and the butt end of the car went all over the show  :banghead: .  If I was going 60 or summit I can imagine it wiping me and others on the road out!!…. quite scary to think they can deteriorate that quick… I'm  now worried about driving her above 50-60 when she's fixed incase the other side goes… is this quite a rare thing?  Looked very easy to get out of control and be on my roof  8O .

I'm out tonight so going to work on it in the morning….. seeing her on the recovery truck pulled at the old heart strings
